My First-ever posting!

Well, hello to all who somehow find themselves on this blog. Today is a quiet day, Reilly is at her dad's house and I find myself with little to nothing to do. Well, this isn't true. There are a million things to do, but nothing that I really want to do! So, I found my way here and decided to try the world of blogging.

I'm a stay-at-home wife and mom in Georgia. My husband is currently deployed with the National Guard to New Mexico for Border Patrol duty. He's been gone for 3 months and will probably be there until June of '08. I have a daughter who is 7 and will start the 2nd grade in August. I have two step-children; Rose, 7, will also start 2nd grade soon and Tristan, who is a rising 5th grader. They visit often and are great kids.

Monte', my husband, returned from Iraq in May of 2006. He is career military and missed being a soldier after he returned home, so he volunteered for duty in NM. This was a very difficult thing for me, since we have only been married since September of 2006 and he is my best friend and the love of my life. I'm sure there will be many postings here about how his absence affects Reilly's and my daily life.

Today, I have to get the house spic and span after having been on vaca for 3 weeks with all the kids and my parents on a cross-country road trip. We started in NM for a visit with my DH and wound up going through 19 states in 20 days. I'll post more about that when I get the disc of pics from my Dad (Big Daddy).

Tuesday, my sweet baby-girl is having her tonsils out and as a mom, I'm a nervous wreck. Everyone can tell me just how routine this is, but this is my BABY we are talking about and I can't stand it. I'm sure the recovery process will also be something to vent about here in the next two weeks.

Meanwhile, it's back to housework for me. I've fooled around long enough. Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings!
